The October 8, 2021 meeting will include a presentation on the topic "Medicaid in the Community " to commemorate "National Celebration of Pro Bono Month". This course is approved for 1.00 Illinois MCLE general credit hour.
Chelsey Wintersteen has been a staff attorney at the Prairie State Legal Services office serving McHenry County since 2014. She graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2013 (J.D., magna cum laude) and Northern Illinois University in 2010 (B.A. English, B.A. Spanish Language and Literature, summa cum laude). In her practice, Ms. Wintersteen represents low-income clients facing loss of public benefits and problems with housing, such as evictions, subsidy terminations, utility shutoffs, and uninhabitable living conditions. She also coordinates the summer law student internship program for Prairie State Legal Services’ 11 offices throughout 36 counties in northern Illinois. Ms. Wintersteen is a member of the McHenry County Bar Association.
Dolores Wigman graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Law and has been licensed to practice in Illinois since 1985. She was an assistant state’s attorney in McHenry County for nine years where she handled misdemeanor, juvenile, and felony cases. She also represented and advised the County in civil matters. She played a key role in establishing the McHenry County Child Advocacy Center. At one point she acted as director of the Advocacy Center and later served on its board of directors. She also clerked for the Honorable Susan F. Hutchinson of the Second District Appellate Court. Dolores has been the Elder Rights Coordinator for Prairie State Legal Services for seven years. As well as directly representing older adults in a myriad of issues, she works on improving the organization’s services for seniors through training and collaboration with other elder law attorneys. Dolores is vice-chair of the ISBA elder law section council
